A PSA 10 has no single price. The same card in the same grade trades in a range, and the number that matters is what copies actually sold for, not what sellers are asking. It also shows the rest of the ladder: what the same card brings in a PSA 9, a PSA 8 and raw. That is the comparison that tells a slab owner whether the grade is carrying the price or the card is, and it is the one most price lookups leave out.
The engine refuses thin data. A value is called dependable only when a pool of recent matched sales backs it, never off a single sale, and when the sales are too few, too old or too scattered the app says which instead of averaging noise into a number. Sales that are not the same card, such as title-stuffed parallels, reprints and mixed lots, are thrown out before anything is averaged.
